General Information

When does the conference take place?
The conference runs from Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, October 29. The welcome keynote will begin Thursday, 5:00 pm followed by a second keynote Friday, 9 am and subsequent breakout sessions at 10:45 am. The conference will end on Saturday night with the final keynote and awards ceremony concluding at 6:15 pm. Immediately following will be the closing reception and party. 

Where does the conference take place?
The conference is being held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Who should attend the Net Impact Conference?
The conference is designed for professionals and students interested in using their business skills for social and environmental change. The conference presents a wide range of topics from finance to social entrepreneurship to corporate social responsibility, with speakers from the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

What networking opportunities are available?
The conference has numerous formal and informal networking opportunities, including the Expo, small group dinners, cocktail receptions, discussion groups, 
workshops, and themed networking roundtables.

How do I receive updates on the conference?
Join Net Impact and sign up for Leading Business or one of the other Net Impact newsletters. Conference updates will be featured in a special conference section.  You can also receive conference updates via email, Facebook, or Twitter.

I produce sustainable products and would like to support the conference.  How can I get involved?
Unfortunately our venue permits us only a limited amount of in-kind donations. If you would like to showcase your product at the conference, we highly recommend joining the Net Impact Expo. If you are interested in getting involved with the Expo please email expo@netimpact.org. 

Registration

How much does it cost to attend?
Registration fees differ for students and professionals, and Net Impact members receive a significant discount. To join Net Impact and take advantage of the package discount as well as our many other great programs, please visit the conference website and begin registering. You will be prompted to add a membership as part of the registration process. Note, if you register through the main Net Impact Membership site, rather than the 2011 Conference site, you will not receive the special package price. See the complete list of registration fees for more information.

What does my registration pay for?
Your conference fee covers your attendance at keynotes, panel sessions, and workshops, as well as your copy of the guidebook. Breakfast, coffee breaks, and lunches are also covered within conference fees.

What is the greening fee?
Net Impact is committed to sustainability, but often greener resources and supplies have a price premium over 'conventional' alternatives. The greening fee allows Net Impact to offset the increased cost incurred, and to expand its greening efforts.

I represent a school. Can I reserve tickets as a group?
Your school can pre-pay for tickets at the current price.  Please contact conference@netimpact.org for more information.

Accommodations

Where should I stay? Is there a host hotel? 
Net Impact has contracted special room rates with a number of centrally located hotels. See the complete list of contracted hotels and book a room. Please note that we cannot guarantee reservations made after October 6 or once room blocks have been filled at the special Net Impact price, so book early!

Conference speakers come from all sectors, including representatives from corporations, social enterprises, nonprofits, governments, and NGOs.

I am interested in speaking at the conference - how do I get selected to speak?
Unfortunately, all of our sessions are now full and we are unable to accept any more speaker requests for 2011 at this time. If you are interested in speaking at the 2012 Net Impact Conference please fill out the 2012 Speaker Interest Form.

Net Impact Expo

Who attends the Expo?
The Net Impact Expo brings together 2600 talented professionals and students to connect with over 80 companies and organizations from all sectors who are committed to environmental and social responsibility.

When is the Expo open?
The Expo is open Friday, October 28, from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm, and does not run on Saturday. The Expo hall is in the convention center, directly adjacent to breakout session rooms and the lunch space.

Is the Expo a job fair and/or career event?
The Net Impact Expo is a unique and exciting networking opportunity to connect with like-minded companies and organizations. Although it is not a job fair, some companies will be actively recruiting, while others are just eager to share their sustainability and corporate responsibility practices with an audience of students, graduates, and professionals who are focused on social and environmentally responsible business.
